The clip was entirely AI-generated by an unknown creator. Far-right counter-protestors mobilized, overwhelming the Cenotaph; 145 were arrested, 9 police injured. Khan later told the BBC the deepfake 'nearly triggered public disorder and could have cost lives'. The Metropolitan Police said no law in the UK clearly criminalized it at the time — accelerating new AI deepfake legislation.
