On January 21, 2025, DNB Bank employees joined a routine Teams meeting with their CEO and CFO. Both executive faces were real-time deepfakes, powered by voice-cloning and generative video. The imposters walked the team through approvals for what turned out to be fraudulent wire transfers. DNB only caught it through a side-channel verification call. Security researchers called it the first documented live multi-exec deepfake meeting — and warned that the tools to do it now cost under $100/month.
