WormGPT: A Jailbroken AI Built Specifically to Help Criminals Hack, Scam, and Write Malware

In July 2023, cybersecurity researchers discovered 'WormGPT' — a generative AI model sold on dark web forums, marketed specifically to criminals. Based on a jailbroken open-source model, it had no ethical guardrails and was trained on malware data. It could write convincing phishing emails, generate malware code, and help plan cyberattacks. Subscriptions sold for $60–100/month. It was quickly followed by FraudGPT, DarkGPT, and WolfGPT — an entire dark web AI ecosystem for crime.
